Big Hats. Big Show.
The big hat is the big buzz at New York’s Fall fashion Week this year. Tuesday, Marc Jacobs ’ Valentines Day runway show set them all talking about the huge hats, lavish use of fur, and a look that is a cross between Victorian valentine and urban grunge. It’s a whimsical combination of Captian Hook and Anna Karenina and it totally works.
Buckles, briocades, and big big hats are keynotes of the collection, along with lavish use of unexpected textures. The entire thing gives off an aura of unexpected elegance and is just plain fun.
Every jaded fashion head was turning on Tuesday and the hats were what they were looking at. Yep folks, hats are definitely back, and not just those pert little fascinators so favoured by certain members of the British Royal family.

Boy am I glad I'm old enough not to worry about being fashionable, those hats give me a headache just looking at them!
